Dreamy-eyed Southerner Thinks Longingly of Good Old Days When Pellagra was King

Louisiana native, Tracy Hebert, was lost in thought Tuesday, as she dreamed of living during the good old Southern days when pellagra was king. “I dunno, life was just so much simpler back then. All you had to worry about was a possibly fatal niacin deficiency-induced disease, caused by rampant malnutrition.”  

When asked if she was concerned about the effects of pellagra Tracy laughed, “Ya’ll, I mean I heard it causes dermatitis, dementia and some other stuff. And well, I wash my skin everyday and use toner. And dementia ya’ll, come on, ya’ll know I’m already kinda crazy like that.”
