A radical splinter group of climate-change deniers is gaining support for its claim that winter is a ridiculous hoax. The group, which denies the existence of seasons, has focused its ire on so-called ‘pseudo-meteorologists’ who they say have financial ties to the coat industry. Says member Dirk Shingles, “As is always the case, you have to follow the money. These pseudo-scientists have already invested over a million dollars in the Burlington Coat Factory. And that’s just one coat supplier, there are dozens more.” In an attempt to raise consciousness about their core issue, the group has introduced the term ‘Sprummallter’, an amalgamation of Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter, as a catch-all term for what they see as the minor weather shifts that occur throughout the year.
